Fish Cake/ Patties


  Ingredients
  • 4oz Tuna.
  • Grated cheddar cheese
  • Vegetable oil, for frying.
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar.
  • 1 teaspoons sugar.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
  • 1/2 tbsp Black pepper powder.
  • 4oz mashed potato.
  • Flour, for dusting.
  • 1 large egg, beaten.
  • 1 1/2 cup fine dry breadcrumbs.
  • Salt to taste.
  Method
  • Mix the tuna, mashed potato, cheese, sugar, vinegar in a bowl until well combined. Season with salt and black pepper and add lime juice, to taste.
  • Shape the mixture as required, scatter flour onto one plate, beat the egg in a bowl, then place the breadcrumbs on another plate, Dredge each patties in the flour, then dip it in the beaten egg and roll in the breadcrumbs until completely coated.
  • Heat a large frying pan with a vegetable oil, When the oil is hot, carefully lower the fish cakes into the pan.
  • Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until crisp, golden-brown on each side and completely cooked through.

  • This dish goes well served with salads, chutney, sauce, noodle's, rice dish.
