Ingredients
- 4 Chicken breast boneless skinless, cut into bite sized pieces.
- 1 cup all purpose flour.
- 1/2 cup low-fat milk, 1/2 cup for marinade.
- 1 tsp thyme seeds powder, 1 tsp for marinade.
- 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp for marinade.
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper, 1 tsp for marinade.
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice.
- 1 egg (beaten).
- 2 cups breadcrumbs.
- Salt.
- Oil for deep frying.
- 1/4 cup cup fresh cream.
- 1/4 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt.
- 1 tablespoon honey.
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard.
- 1/2 cup basil leaves, chopped.
- Cut chicken breasts into small pieces and keep aside in a large bowl.
- Mix together the 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp garlic, 1 tsp thyme, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper, and pour over the chicken.
- Cover, and leave to marinate in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight (optional).
- In a shallow dish, add flour, black pepper powder , garlic powder, carom seeds powder and salt and mix well. Beat the egg and remaining milk in a separate bowl. In another plate, add bread crumbs. Set aside.
- Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Now coat each piece of chicken first in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten egg, milk mixture and then roll in bread crumbs.
- Once the chicken pieces are fully coated, repeat the same process if needed.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Deep fry the chicken in batches till golden & crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- To prepare sauce, combine cream and remaining ingredients in a medium bowl; stir to combine. Serve with chicken nuggets.
