Tuna Wasabi


  Ingredients
  • 4 tuna steaks (1-inch thick).
  • sesame seeds.
  • vegetable oil, for brushing tuna.
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cubed.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
  • 1/2 tbsp Black pepper powder.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons wasabi paste.
  • Salt to taste.
  Method
  • In a saucepan combine vinegar, lime juice, soy sauce and wasabi paste and bring to a boil.
  • Over low heat, whisk in butter, 1 piece at a time, lifting pan from heat occasionally to cool mixture and adding each new piece before previous one has melted completely, and set aside in a bowl.
  • Lightly brush tuna steaks with vegetable oil, and season with sesame seeds, salt and pepper, both side.
  • Place in the hot skillet, and sear for 3 to 5 minutes on each side.
  • Place tuna in serving plate and pour sauce over tuna.
  Notes

  • This dish goes well served with vegetable biryani.
